My role is to create a supportive, non-judgmental and highly confidential environment where i will listen attentively to both what is said and what remains unspoken.

Working with Me

  • Can you help me?

Whether you are struggling with a key issue, have a particular concern you wish to address or you simply wish to explore yourself and your place in the world, an initial consultation will allow us both to understand your goals and decide whether we can work together to achieve them.

I offer a complementary 15 minute phone call for us to introduce ourselves. The next step would be an initial consultation. This will be for 50 minutes during which I will ask about your concerns, goals and background.

  • How does it work?

Therapy is about you and each session will be focused on what you bring each week.

If we each decide we will work together, subsequent sessions will be usually be once or twice per week for fifty minutes each. Everything you say will be held in the strictest confidence and we will regularly check in with progress.

We can meet online or in my consulting rooms in Cheltenham or Oxford.

  • How long does therapy last?

This is something we will discuss and very much depends on your needs and aspirations.

We can work together on a short-term basis to address certain issues or on a longer-term or open-ended basis for more involved work or deeper issues.

Whichever route is taken, we will agree this together and the focus will be what it is that you wish to achieve from therapy.

  • how much does it cost?

Each session of fifty minutes is £85 during normal working hours, or £95 for evening sessions.

Sessions will be billed by invoice, in arrears, on a monthly basis. Initial consultation fees are payable in advance.

I reserve several spaces for concessions and consider these on a case by case basis.

MOre ABOUT how I work:

My approach focuses on helping you explore the challenges you’re currently facing or have encountered in the past. Together, we’ll work to make sense of these experiences and process any painful or difficult emotions.

My training was Psychodynamic - just one of the many theoretical frameworks available for therapists - and over time I have built upon this framework with experience of other schools of thought. Above all, I focus on pragmatic approaches to change that will aid you in your personal growth.

the Psychodynamic Approach:

Working Psychodynamically simply means that we will explore how your present feelings or symptoms may be influenced by past experiences. Quite quickly we’ll uncover and connect patterns of thought or behaviour that may have previously been hidden or unexamined. We will thus shed light on these feelings and experiences and open up the possibility of gaining clarity, allowing you to break free of repetitive cycles and moving past feeling ‘stuck’ or ‘lost’.

The aim can only be, and always is, to put you at the heart of our sessions. We will work to get to the root of the issues you’re experiencing to create lasting, meaningful change.
